Failure Mechanism and Stability Evaluation of Gently Dipping Rock Landslide

Abstract:

Taking gently dipping rock landslide of Yangjiabang in Sichuan Province for an example,we analyze the deformation and failure mechanism based on various elements of landslide features.And then GeoStudio is used to establish landslide stability model.Finally,slople module is adopted to analyze landslide stability under different rainfall conditions.The results show that the deformation and failure of landslide was caused by many factors while the rainfall is the main induction factors;the impact of rainfall on the leading edge of stability is larger than that of trailing edge;the reduction of landslide stability exhibits different characteristics at different rainfall period,namely,antecedent rainfall weakened the maximum degree of landslide stability,followed by later period of rainfall while medium-term of rainfall weakened the minimum degree of landslide stability.
