In order to analyze the influence of the upstream earth-rock cofferdam break by overtopping on the foundation pit submergence,based on the theoretical model of DAMBRK and the relevant empirical formula,this paper established the model concerning cofferdam break by overtopping.By calculating this model,the breach characteristic parameters were obtained to analyze the evolution process of the floods in the foundation pit and the flooding submerged degree of the foundation pit.Finally,the model was applied to a certain cofferdam project to predict the shape of the breach,the process of flood evolution and the submerged situation of the foundation pit.By predicting the flood process in the foundation pit,we will take precautionary measures,scientifically and efficiently transfer personnel and equipment in the foundation pit,so as to play the role of disaster prevention and mitigation.The results show that the study has guiding significance for the emergency plan preparation of earth-rock cofferdam overburdened floods.
