Five-segment Algorithm for Permeability Coefficient of Anti-seepage Wall in Homogeneous Earth Dike on Impervious Foundation

Abstract:

According to imperfection of permeability test for anti-seepage wall in dyke construction,three-segment algorithm for seepage calculation of the homogeneous earth dike on impervious foundation is referenced,and five-segment algorithm of permeability coefficient of anti-seepage wall is presented.And then the algorithm is verified by numerical simulation of water injection test.The result shows that when the difference between permeability of soil mass and anti-seepage wall is in the range of 200-1 000 times,inspection results is more accurate;when the permeability difference is less than 200 times,with increase of numbers of downstream inspection hole,the error will be eliminated;when the permeability difference is larger than 1 000 times,the calculation error can not be eliminated but the results can be used for qualitative analysis.Therefore,the algorithm can be applied to the practical engineering by setting certain conditions.
