Xiangyang City was selected to investigate the relationship between river-lake water system(RLWS)and socio-economic development(SED).Based on the data from 2001 to 2014,an evaluation index system regarding the harmonious development between RLWS and SED was constructed.And then the harmony degree was quantified by the harmony calculation method.The results show that the harmony degree gradually increased from the less harmonious state to the more harmonious state.To ensure the harmonious development,a series of engineering and non-engineering measures need to be implemented.The results can provide guidance and reference for the research on the strategic development between RLWS and SED in Xiangyang City.
