Based on Ontology,the necessity of building hydraulic ontology are analyzed and discussed for solving various problems of water resource informatization at present.Ontology is introduced into water conservancy engineering,and the modeling elements and correlation methods of hydraulic ontology are proposed.Hydraulic ontology is tried to build in the field of water conservancy on the basis of principles of ontology and modeling primitives.Some problems about knowledge management in water conservancy can be solved by research results,and there are important guiding significance on construction and management of the future water resource informatization.
