1. General Information
Water Resources and Power (ISSN 1000-7709; CN 42-1231/TK) is sponsored by the China Society for Hydropower Engineering and Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), published by the School of Civil and Hydraulic Engineering of HUST, and administered by the Ministry of Education of China.
Launched in 1983, the journal was published annually in 1983–1984, quarterly in 1985–2004, bimonthly in 2004–2009, and has been a monthly publication since 2010.
2. Aims and Scope
The journal aims to promote the efficient utilization of water and hydropower resources and optimize energy development, thereby advancing the development of water, hydropower, and energy sectors. It mainly publishes new theories, technologies, methodologies, and engineering application achievements related to water resources, hydropower, energy, and their associated disciplines.

3. Indexing and Abstracting
The journal has been listed multiple times in A Guide to the Core Journal of China compiled by the Peking University Library (including the 1994, 2008, 2011, 2014, 2017, 2020, and 2023 editions). It has been continuously recognized as a Source Journal for Chinese Scientific and Technical Papers and Citations by the Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China (ISTIC), as well as an RCCSE Authoritative Academic Journal (Grade A in Energy) by Wuhan University. It was also selected as a Tier-1 High-Quality Sci-Tech Journal in Water Resources in the 2019, 2021, and 2022 national evaluations.
